Wait, scarves in the spring? DEFINITELY!

Another trend that I love is wearing scarves in the spring/summer. On those cool spring/summer nights and days, bring out a lightweight scarf from your closet in a bright color. You can wear solids or find one with a cute print/pattern. You can wear them all different ways too. I love wearing them with a tank top, so don't be afraid to bare those sexy shoulders! Plus it's another trend that won't break the bank!

April showers bring May flowers....and spring FASHION!

So spring is here in full force, and I've been looking at casual, spring fashion. The casual look that I think anyone can pretty much wear is the belted cardigan. It works for a professional work day or a lazy afternoon of brunch and shopping. For a 9-5, pair them with dress pants or a pencil skirt. For the weekend, pair them with cute ballet flats and skinny jeans or shorts. Now you're comfortable, looking cute, and all ready to go!

Yesterday, I wore a pair of skinny jeans, black ballet flats, a black cardigan, a white tank, and a skinny yellow belt. Too bad my fiance said that it looked like I was doing martial arts or something with the belt around my cardigan (sigh, boys will never understand ladies' fashion!) The outfit looked something like this....

This isn't the exact belt I wore, but it looks similar to this. The one I wore was only $2.50 on sale at Forever 21.

A "jackie" cardigan from J. Crew

Ribbed white boyfriend tank from Old Navy

Mia ultra skinny jeans from Express

Ute flats from Aldo

Here's how you can wear the look for work:

Don't be afraid to wear bright colored belts because it adds that extra splash of color for your outfit. And the great thing about this trend is that you can find cheap belts in all different colors and styles, so there's no need to splurge!

A little color doesn't hurt

So lately, I've been noticing more and more girls wearing neutral colored dresses like black and adding a pop of color by wearing bright colored shoes or carrying a bright clutch because sometimes it can look a little dull wearing a black dress and black shoes. I know this trend has been around for a while, but I'm noticing it more and more and am liking it more and more. I just love the splash of color without being overdone. Here are a few examples that I like...

Here's what I think doesn't work....

There's too much going on with the bright dresses and the bright shoes. It's important to be careful you don't have too many different colors. Your outfit should be balanced.

So ladies, work the LBDs and the hot shoes and clutches this summer, but make sure you don't go overboard with the colors!

Confessions of another shopaholic.....

So lately, I've been doing way too much shopping. I feel like I use shopping as an outlet to relieve stress or make myself feel better when i'm feeling down. I was watching the episode on "How I Met Your Mother" season 3 where Lily has a shopping problem and is in a lot of debt but can't find the courage to tell her husband. Luckily, I don't really have much debt because I am able to pay my credit card off pretty quickly and don't have a lot of student loans to worry about because thankfully my parents paid for all of my schooling. I also don't have a million credit cards. I just have 2. But my fiance has a lot of debt right now, and instead of helping him pay off his debt, I've been selfishly buying useless things to fulfill my needs. And in the last month, I spent over $3,000! Granted, most of the money I spent was because I bought a dog, but that's a whole other story.

But i find myself buying things that I definitely don't need, and I have way too many shoes (is it possible for a girl to have too many shoes?). But the thing is I don't believe in spending hundreds of dollars on shoes, but I'm willing to buy an $800 designer purse. And lately, I feel like I've been more stressed and upset, so I've been shopping more and more. But most of the shopping I do is online, which can be really deadly. Sometimes, I just say I'm going to browse on the website, but of course that doesn't work and i end up buying something that I don't need or will only wear a few times.

I have been trying to control my shopping habits, but i just love shopping. I guess in a way, it makes me feel better about myself when I'm feeling down. Hopefully, I'll be able to do a better job of controlling myself especially with the summer coming and all the cute summer dresses and shoes that will be coming out!

Ahhhh, do they have such a thing as a shopaholics anonymous???
