Sheer Done Right

Wednesday, July 8, 2009

Sheer is another trend for the summer. It's nice and breezy for those warm summer days and nights. But you have to be careful with wearing sheer because you want to look tasteful, not trashy. Here are examples of sheer done right:

And ladies, make sure you wear a bra underneath a sheer shirt or dress. You don't want to show too much skin. Make sure you keep your "goodies" hidden! ;)

Chain Gang

Sunday, July 5, 2009

I hope everyone had an enjoyable and safe 4th of July! On to another fashion post...

I love chunky, multi-chain layered necklaces. They are so versatile. They look great with a comfy tee or tank for a more casual look:

Or with a sexy dress at night for a more dressed up look:

This "chain" look is also showing up in shoes:

Scaredy-Cat!

Am I the only one scared of fireworks?

They are definitely pretty to look at, but the sound that they make, ahhhh!! I don't know why, but they scare the bejeezus out of me. I always have to cover my ears when I watch fireworks, esp. when I'm close to them and they are the big ones. Little ones are okay, but the big ones that make a big kaboom??? FORGET IT! I'm like a scared little girl with my ears covered. It's kind of embarrassing actually, haha.

I also get freaked out by balloons popping!! And even in the movie theater, sometimes if I know someone is going to get shot, I cover my ears when the gunshot comes.

Something with me and loud sounds, I don't know what it is. Maybe something happened with a loud sound when I was little and I've been traumatized? Who knows. I know, I'm such a big baby!

Ok, that's my pre-4th of July rant for the day. Thanks for reading, my lovely blogger friends. I guess you know I'm not going to be watching fireworks this weekend unless I'm far away and can't hear them that well, haha.

Also, thanks so much for all your positive feedback on the bag on my previous post. Now I feel better about buying it and rocking it at work. Thanks loves!

I leave you with some yummy yummy 4th of July desserts.

Enjoy your 4th and watching fireworks, you brave souls! ;)

Just Because

I just bought this adorable bag for work. It's an amykathryn 'Tuberose' Tote Bag. Technically, I think it's a beach bag, but I didn't want a boring bag for work, and I love the colors of this bag. It's so roomy too. The best part is, I got it for almost 60% off (retails for $120)! What do you guys think? Is it too much for work? I'm a teacher by the way...

Amy Hall is the super talented designer of these bags. She uses animal-friendly and eco-friendly materials for her designs. Her celebrity clients include Hillary Duff, Selma Blair, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Pink, and Leann Rimes just to name a few. Go check out her website here.

Also, have you all seen Lady Gaga's hair lately??? All I can say is "WOW!".....
